Joe Souza, our Master Luthier, has worked closely with Artec Sound to create a Pick-Up that is the perfect addition to amplify your ‘ukulele. With three options that have been tested and approved by the best ‘ukulele players in the business like Kapena, Aldrine, Keauhou, Uncle Willie K, Craig Chee and Sarah Maisel. Whatever the setting, we have a Pick-Up that is right for you. Every `ukulele built has the ability to be setup as an electric acoustic instrument.
All three variations of our Kanile’a Pick-Up systems are run through an individual crystal under-saddle piezo. Meaning, there sits a monitor beneath each string. This allows for properly balanced sound, clarity of notes, and plenty of volume to play with.
Pick-Up System Options
- Kanile`a Exclusive Passive – This system does not have a battery pack and it is very easy to use. You plug into your amplifier and the pickup will power itself with the power of your amplifier. The larger the amplifier, the stronger the signal. Run through an under-saddle piezo with four individual crystals.
- Kanile`a Exclusive Active – This system has a built in preamp and will be powered by a 9v battery. The signal from this pickup is very strong and will offer you plenty of volume no matter the size of the amplifier. Run through an under-saddle piezo with four individual crystals.
- Kanile`a Exclusive Active with Volume Control – This system is the same as the Kanile’a Active with a battery and built in preamp, however, you have the ability to adjust the volume from right inside the soundhole. The volume knob is very small and non-intrusive making it lightweight and incognito. Run through an under-saddle piezo with four individual crystals.
