In 2014, Kaimana Souza was offered the privilege to design an ‘ukulele for himself, the Super Tenor body being relatively unknown, Kaimana decided to go with the Super Tenor Body and Cobra Slotted Headstock. Which was the first thin slotted profile in the Kanile’a line up. Kaimana chose the Diamond inlay because “Kaimana” in the modern Hawaiian language means, “Diamond”. Upon completion, many customers and artists, including the amazing Kimo Hussey, praised the look feel and sound of the Diamond Super Tenor, that Kanile’a had the urge to make it a standard model, and has been a top seller for the past 6 years.
