New for 2021, the DK and DR models are now available for pre-order. There are 8 variations based on size, soundboard option, and Koa grade. The DK and DR come standard with Deluxe Koa options and are going to be made available in Premium Koa options. The weight, sleekness, and tone of this new model make it one of the most impressive new models out of the Kanile’a factory in a long time.
The D-Shaped Sound Hole is now available in the lineup as part of a new model for 2021. When the D-Shaped Sound Hole was introduced in combination with the Side Port on the 2020 Platinum, we knew that we had struck tone gold. The ability for the entire soundboard to resonate and sing has continued to blow people away all year. So since the 2020 Platinum will no longer be available in it’s specifications, we wanted to offer the tone in a model that is golden in its own right. With sleek and comfortable finishing this model will sing for hours.
In 2018 the KSDLX model, which had a spruce top, was discontinued and marked the beginning of an era with no models available with alternative wood tops. 2021 is about to change that with the introduction of the DR-Series. Available in Tenor or Super Tenor with the D-Shaped Sound Hole and the Side Port, either in all Koa OR with Koa back and sides and a stunning Dark Sinker Redwood Soundboard. The visual appeal is striking, but the tone is unbelievable! All sizes and wood combinations come standard as Deluxe Koa and can be upgraded to be outfitted with Premium Koa.
