Cory Mau, one third of the Hawaiian music trio Ke ʻOlu, was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu, spending his early years in Liliha. He was blessed to attend the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama since kindergarten where, as a 13-year student, he gained an appreciation for music. The first instrument he learned was the ʻukulele. He took lessons from the Roy Sakuma Ukulele Studios. Growing up, Cory was influenced by music of all kinds and all genres – from pop music of today and going all the way back to to the 70s.

Cory graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, with a Bachelors of Education in Elementary Education. He is currently an elementary teacher at Kamehameha Kapālama and also works part time at the Roy Sakuma Ukulele Studios as an ʻukulele instructor. On evenings and weekends, he gets to pursue his passion for making music as a part of Ke ʻOlu with his besties Krystal Mokuahi and Hiʻi Asing.
